FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • your driving/distance glasses
  • your referral if not previously forwarded to us by your GP or Optometrist
  • a list of your medications
  • your Medicare, Pension, DVA card
  • we suggest you bring a driver to your initial appointment as your eyes may need to be dilated

How long will my appointment take?

Your initial appointment will be approximately 2 hours. This time will depend on the testing requested by Dr Phipps. Once he has reviewed your referral we will be able to give you an estimate of time along with cost. Trained staff will carry out your testing prior to seeing Dr Phipps.

Why will my eyes be dilated?

Dilating drops allow Dr Phipps to fully review your eye health. As this dilation can take 2 hours or longer to reverse you are advised  to bring a driver. Dilation is usually not required at every visit and in many instances you can be advised of the testing plan for your next visit; so you can bring a driver if necessary. You also have the option of remaining in the waiting room until you are comfortable to drive. Sunglasses may also reduce the sun glare.

Appointment payment

Cash, Cheques, EFTPOS and Credit Cards are accepted. Amex cards are not accepted.

Is there Wheel Chair access?

Yes there is. Please advise our staff and they will lay the ramp to enable you ease of access via the front door.
